What all 200 are saying right now
One reading of every company in the index, taken on 2026-08-08. The counts are small and are written as counts, never as percentages without the number that produced them. Nothing is filled in: where a value could not be read, it is reported as unread rather than as a zero.

What the headlines say
The word most B2B SaaS homepages reach for right now is “platform”, in 20 of 182 hero headlines, just ahead of “software” at 12. Two companies separate the top three, so this is a photograph of one morning, not a trend.
Counted over 182 of 200 companies. 18 not readable — no hero headline extracted. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it.
How this is measured
Counted once per company, not once per occurrence, so a headline that repeats a word still votes once. Words are lowercased and split on punctuation, nothing is stemmed — “agent” and “agents” are different claims — and the standard English stopword list is removed along with everything shorter than three letters. That last rule is what keeps “AI” out of this chart; it has its own section below. 481 distinct words appear in total, the great majority of them once.

What they call themselves
Asked what they are, 65 of 156 companies still say platform, nearly 2 times the next answer, “software”, at 26. Whatever the headlines are doing, the noun has not moved with them.
Counted over 156 of 200 companies. 44 not readable — no category label extracted. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it.
How this is measured
The category label is the noun phrase a company uses for itself — “the AI workspace”, “CRM for agentic revenue”. Each label is grouped by the first noun in it that appears in a fixed vocabulary, read left to right, because English puts the head noun before its qualifiers: “AI platform for marketers” is a platform, not a marketer. Singular and plural are grouped together here, unlike in the headline count, because as a self-description they are the same claim. A label with no noun we know is not forced into a bucket — it is shown as it is. Extraction of this signal is a scored guess over a fixed vocabulary and is the least reliable of the twelve.

How many are selling AI
123 of 184 companies put AI, agent, copilot or autonomous language into the first three things a visitor reads. The 61 that do not are the interesting list, and it includes Adyen, AFAS Software, Alan.
- 123 use AI or agent language
- 61 do not
- 16 not readable (we could read none of the three fields)
Which word
Where it appears
Counted over 184 of 200 companies. 16 not readable — none of the headline, subhead or category label could be read. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it.
How this is measured
A company counts if any of its hero headline, hero subhead or category label contains one of four term families, matched as whole words: ai (so “AI-powered” counts and “said” does not), agent / agents / agentic, copilot, autonomous / autonomy. The list is the definition — nothing is fuzzy-matched, and a company that sells AI without using any of these four words is counted as not using them, which is the honest limit of a word count. A company appears once no matter how many of the three fields mention it, so the two smaller charts below add up to more than the number above.

What they use as proof
When these companies prove something, they count things. 97 of 145 use a scale counts claim and 82 use a percentage gains claim. Only 14 promise a time to result, which is the claim buyers actually ask about.
Counted over 145 of 200 companies. 55 not readable — no quantified claim extracted. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it. 1 is flagged as a suspected extraction failure, with change detection paused.
How this is measured
Bars count companies, not claims: a homepage with eleven percentage claims has one opinion about how to prove things, and counting claims would let one verbose page outvote ten others. 610 individual claims were read across 145 companies, and a company appears in every category it uses, so the bars sum to more than that. “40% faster” and “faster by 40%” are one category, because the difference between them is a property of our regexes rather than of the market.
Show the claims behind each category
| Category | Companies | The claims |
|---|---|---|
| Scale counts customers, users, records, teams | 97 |
|
| Percentage gains "40% faster", "cut costs by 30%" | 82 |
|
| Money amounts "$2.4M saved", "$1B processed" | 44 |
|
| Multipliers "10x faster" | 30 |
|
| Rankings and lists "Fortune 500", "G2 leader" | 24 |
|
| Time to result "in under 5 minutes" | 14 |
Whose logo is everyone using
The customer named on the most homepages is Gartner, on 8 of 146 readable logo walls, then OpenAI on 8. With 1599 distinct names across 146 walls and none above 8, there is no logo the whole category leans on.
Counted over 146 of 200 companies. 54 not readable — no logo wall this extractor could read. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it.
How this is measured
This is the shallowest measurement on the page and the numbers below are a floor, not a count. Logo names are read from image alt text, image filenames and inline SVG titles, so a wall built from CSS sprites or a single flat image reads as no logos at all — which is why 14 companies are missing rather than empty. Spellings are case-folded before counting, because the same customer is “OpenAI” on one page and “Openai” on the next; the spelling shown is the most common one.

What the pricing pages show
Of the 51 pricing pages this crawler can read, 40 publish a free tier and 11 do not. That says almost nothing about the other 149 companies: their pricing is behind a "contact sales" button or rendered by JavaScript we do not run, and a page we cannot read is not a company without a free plan.
- 40 publish a free tier
- 11 publish pricing, no free tier
- 149 pricing not readable (not the same as having no free tier)
Cheapest published paid price, where we could read one (41 companies)
Counted over 51 of 200 companies. 149 not readable — pricing page blocked, behind "contact sales", or rendered client-side. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not publish it.
How this is measured
Two different denominators, kept apart because they are two different measurements: 51 pricing pages yield a readable tier list, and only 41 of those also yield a number. 23 of the readable pages carry at least one tier with no price on it at all. Amounts are not currency-converted — 38 in USD, 2 in EUR, 1 in GBP — because a converted figure is a number no page ever published. The lowest bucket is real rather than a rounding artefact: a usage-priced product’s cheapest published number is a per-unit rate, not a seat price. The median of the 41 readable entry prices is 10.99, which describes these few numbers and is not a market price.

Whether the segment changes the story
Folded into 10 groups of 11 to 27 companies, the segments do part company on AI and agent language: 12 of 12 readable companies in Customer service, against 2 of 11 in Financial infrastructure. That is a gap 9 companies wide. 8 of the 9 cuts computed here survive the two rules below; the 1 that do not are listed with the reason rather than drawn faintly.
Uses AI or agent language
Top to bottom this spread is 9 companies wide: that many companies in Financial infra changing one line would tie it with Service. 2 companies would tie the top two, so the order of these bars is not a finding — only the distance between the ends is.

Every 200 of 200 companies falls into exactly one group; none is dropped and none is counted twice. Each cut has its own denominator, and every bar prints it: 184 of 200 companies whose headline, subhead or category label we can read; 156 of 200 companies whose category label we can read; 145 of 200 companies with at least one quantified claim we can read; 51 of 200 companies whose pricing page we can read. Not readable means we could not extract it, not that the company does not do it. A group cell computed over fewer than 6 companies is drawn as “too few to say” with its own n, never as a short bar.
How this is measured
seed/companies.json labels every company with one of fourteen segments, and seven of those hold three companies or fewer — one holds a single company. A bar over one company invites a conclusion about a market from one homepage, so the fourteen are folded into 10 groups. A seed segment is never split: all of its companies move together, so the grouping can be disagreed with as a whole rather than audited company by company. The full mapping, with every company in it, opens below. Two rules then decide what is drawn. A cell computed over fewer than 6 companies is not drawn at all — at six, one company is 17 percentage points — and a cut where fewer than 8 of the 10 groups clear that floor is withheld entirely. A cut whose best and worst group are within 2 companies of each other is also withheld, because a reader looks at the bars and not at the caveat. Every bar states its own count and denominator, and no percentage on this page appears without them.

| Group | Companies | Seed segments | The companies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Developer & infrastructure Sold to the engineering organisation and bought on the same budget: hosting and delivery, the tools that watch it in production, and the products that defend it. Observability is four companies on its own, which is why it is not a bar. | 27 |

| Data & analytics Warehouses, pipelines and the products that read them. The seed splits the store from the question asked of it; the buyer and the pitch are the same, so the two are one bucket here. | 20 |
| Amplitude, Collibra, Contentsquare, Databricks, Dataiku, dbt Labs, Fivetran, Hightouch, Jedox, Matillion, Metabase, Mixpanel, MongoDB, Pendo, PostHog, Quantexa, Segment, Snowflake, Software AG, Supermetrics |
| Work & product How a company builds things and runs itself day to day: issue trackers, docs, whiteboards, chat, and the glue between them. Internally the most varied group here, and the one to be most sceptical of. | 27 |
| Airtable, Asana, Atlassian, Calendly, ClickUp, Figma, GitHub, GitLab, JetBrains, Linear, Loom, M-Files, Mentimeter, Miro, monday.com, Nextcloud, Notion, Productboard, Retool, Rossum, Slack, Teamleader, Templafy, Tricentis, UiPath, Unity, Zapier |
| Go-to-market Everything pointed at winning a customer: finding them, marketing to them and selling to them. Localisation sits here because translating a product is a market-entry decision made on the revenue side, not an engineering one. | 24 |
| Apollo.io, Attio, Bird, Braze, Brevo, Clay, Contentful, Customer.io, DeepL, Gong, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Lokalise, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Showpad, Sitecore, Siteimprove, Staffbase, Trustpilot, Typeform, Unbabel, Voyado, Webflow |
| Customer service What happens after the sale: helpdesks, and the contact-centre platforms the same organisation runs. Split out from go-to-market when the seed grew, because a VP of Service and a CRO do not sign the same contracts. | 12 |
| Aircall, Cognigy, Dixa, Front, Genesys, Intercom, LiveChat, NICE, Parloa, Sinch, Talkdesk, Zendesk |
| Risk, compliance & identity The veto holders. Compliance automation, access and identity, contract lifecycle and legal work. Grouped by who has to approve the purchase rather than by what the software does, because in this corner of the market those are the same question. | 22 |
| ComplyAdvantage, DataGuard, Diligent, Docusign, Drata, Feedzai, Fenergo, Icertis, IDnow, Ironclad, Juro, Luminance, NAVEX, Okta, OneTrust, Red Points, Relativity, SailPoint, Signicat, Usercentrics, Veriff, Workiva |
| Enterprise applications The system-of-record layer: resource planning, process modelling and mining, procurement and service management. Long cycles, an IT buyer, and the part of the market least likely to publish a price. | 18 |
| AFAS Software, Appian, Camunda, Celonis, Coupa, Fortnox, Ivanti, JAGGAER, Mendix, Odoo, Oracle, OutSystems, Pegasystems, Sage, SAP, ServiceNow, TeamViewer, Visma |
| Finance & people ops The back office of an ordinary company: money in and out, and payroll, hiring and reviews. Sold horizontally to a finance or people lead at almost any company. | 22 |
| Anaplan, Avalara, BILL, BlackLine, Brex, CoachHub, Deel, Factorial, Lattice, Ledgy, PayFit, Pennylane, Personio, Pleo, Qonto, Ramp, Rippling, Silverfin, Spendesk, Stripe, Workday, Workhuman |
| Financial infrastructure Software sold to institutions that move money: core banking, payment acceptance and the rails underneath. Deliberately not pooled with the back office — the buyer is a bank or a PSP, and the sale is nothing like an expense-management deal. | 11 |
| Adyen, Avaloq, Backbase, GoCardless, Mambu, Mollie, Paddle, Temenos, Thought Machine, Tink, Wise |
| Industry & vertical software Sold into one industry rather than across all of them: engineering, design and simulation for the physical world, and the clinical and life-sciences stack. The common property is that the buyer works in the industry, not in a horizontal function. | 17 |

Page anatomy
How 200 B2B SaaS homepages are built, rather than what they say: the order the sections come in, what each page carries, and how big it is. Read as of 2026-08-08.
The archetype homepage
Every section type in the corpus, placed at the position it typically appears and sized by how many of the 180 readable pages carry it. It reads like one page and is not one: no company publishes this, and the share that leaves each band out is on the band, because the page that skips a common section is usually the one worth looking at.

Too rare to draw as a band, and listed rather than dropped: Pricing block (13% of 180), FAQ (7% of 180), Video / media (7% of 180), Awards / analysts (7% of 180), Events (3% of 180), Comparison table (1% of 180).
A composite, not a page any company publishes: each band is a section type placed at its typical position, sized by how many pages carry it. Section types come from the classifier, so read it at that accuracy. It shows what the market converged on; the share that does NOT carry each band is stated beside it, because the page that leaves a common section out is often the more interesting one.
How much of this is a judgement
Across 180 readable pages the classifier named 1171 of 1248 sections and left 77 as unclassified — 6.2%.
A section type is this project’s opinion about a span of markup, not a value read off the page. `other` is what the classifier could not name, and it is counted rather than absorbed into a neighbouring type. It is not the same measure as accuracy: a section the classifier names confidently and wrongly is not counted here. The accuracy figure, scored against the hand-labelled pages in seed/labels.json, is published beside every claim that rests on a type.

What counts as a section
The span of markup from one <h2> to the next. The hero is everything
before the first one. That is the whole definition, and it is the definition because it
needs only the document: a rule about visually distinct bands would need a browser, and a
rule about class names would break every time somebody refactors their CSS.
It is wrong in two known ways. A page whose bands are headed by <h3> or by
styled <div>s has no readable sequence at all, and is reported as
unreadable rather than as a single enormous hero — 20 of
200 pages are in that state. A page that heads every feature with its own
<h2> over-counts, so a run of identical adjacent types is collapsed to one.
Which pages are shaped alike
Every readable page as a dot, pulled towards the six pages whose section sequence is closest to its own. Similarity is normalised edit distance over the ordered list of section types, computed when the site is built and published in the API, so the arrangement can be checked rather than taken.
Position is a readable arrangement of a graph, not a projection with axes. Read the clusters, not the pixels; the distances are in the panel, and most of them are high.
Look at one page
Each block is a section, its height showing how much of the page it takes up. Pick a company, then hover, tap or focus a block to see what that section is and how it compares to the other 180 readable pages.
What sits where
The order a page puts things in. Position one is the hero on essentially every page; the interesting question is what a market does with position two.

What has moved since the archive started
This is the slow half of the project and it is deliberately quiet. A change is published only when the page was read successfully, from the same place as last time, and the value moved from one known value to another. A failed extraction, a redesign, or a crawl run from a different country produces an observation and no claim — a broken selector is not a repositioning, and a price quoted in a different currency because the request came from a different continent is not a price change. Crawl health
The diagnostics. Published because an index that quietly stops working while still saying “no changes” is worse than no index, and because every number on the front page is only worth what the crawl behind it is worth.
